($110) Healthy deep ruby. Aromas of black cherry, currant, licorice, menthol and loam, with a more exotic note of sour candy. Densely packed but not particularly pliant or opulent, with an almost peppery quality and firm acidity to the dark berry and sour cherry flavors. Finishes with firm tannins. This is the lower parcel on the property, and these water-retentive soils are typically picked very late-at the end of October in the case of this 2007.
