($38; a selection of Einaudi's oldest barbera vines) Deep ruby-red. Bright, highly nuanced aromas of black cherry, bitter chocolate, violet, minerals and leather; conveys a powerful impression of energy. Then dense, pure and sweet, with vibrant flavors of violet, licorice and minerals. Finishes long and energetic, with substantial fine-grained tannins and lingering sweetness.
