92 Points | International Wine Cellar , May/June 2012

(65% cabernet sauvignon and 22% syrah, with carmenere and cabernet franc):  Opaque ruby.  Sexy, expansive aromas of red- and blackcurrant, candied cherry, pipe tobacco and vanilla, with smoke and floral notes adding complexity.  Palate-staining raspberry and cherry compote flavors are complemented by notes of licorice and bitter chocolate, with a solid spine of acidity adding structure.  Finishes with fine-grained tannins, excellent clarity and sappiness, and lingering spiciness.  This wine should reward at least another five to ten years of cellaring, if not more.  As usual, this is among the handful of truly world-class wines being made in Chile.

About Chile

Virtually every wine region in Chile benefits from proximity to the Pacific Ocean and the cooling Humboldt Current that flows up from the South Pole.
