($40; a 60/40 blend of sangiovese and cabernet sauvignon) Dark red. Very ripe aromas of redcurrant, menthol and licorice show a strong herbal quality. Chunky in texture, with moderately sweet red fruit flavors restrained by strong cola, herbal and pepper notes. Finishes with good length but rather tough tannins, lacking the freshness of the better 2007 wines from Tua Rita.
