Champagne Taittinger opened its showplace winery in Carneros in 1989, where it specializes in making sparkling wines that are creamy yet light on their feet. Winemaker Eileen Crane, handpicked by Claude Taittinger for her position at Carneros, specializes in sparkling wines, and has managed the Domaine's organically farmed vineyard from the start.

(60% pinot noir and 40% chardonnay; only 2% of the wine went through malolactic fermentation): Light yellow-gold. Pear, melon and honey on the pungent nose. Juicy and broad, with sappy orchard fruit flavors braced by a tangy lemon zest nuance. Finishes with good clarity and bite, leaving a bitter citrus note behind.
