88 Points | International Wine Cellar , October 2009

($30) Medium-dark ruby. Light red berry and spicy plum aromas are complicated by riper hints of balsamic vinegar and coffee. Fairly intense, sweet and pliant, with fresh flavors of blackberry, raspberry syrup, iron and minerals. The finish has lift and length and a delicately smoky, almost flinty quality. After a spell of less than impressive wines a few years ago, Altesino seems back on track, and this is an enjoyable, well-made red wine. (Winebow Inc., New York, NY)
