About Didier Dagueneau
Before he passed away in a tragic, small aircraft accident in September 2008, Didier Dagueneau built a reputation as the(italicize) cult producer of the Loire Valley. The reason? Densely concentrated and powerful wines of compelling originality.
2007 Didier Dagueneau Pouilly Fume Buisson Renard
Producer: Didier Dagueneau
Style: White Wine
Grape Type: Sauvignon Blanc
Origin: France
Region: Loire
92 Points | International Wine Cellar , March/April 2010
($112) Bright yellow. Highly aromatic nose combines lemongrass, tangerine, quinine, honey and flint. Rich on entry, then densely packed, juicy and almost austere, with distinctly imploded flavors of candied citrus, ginger, quinine and smoky minerals. This is really dense but shows no excess fat. Finishes minerally, vibrant and long, with potent acidity and terrific verve.
