($80) Bright gold color. A complex, smoky bouquet displays aromas of pear, lemon rind, cherry pit and toasty lees, with a sexy oak spice overtone. Deeply concentrated, chewy orchard fruit flavors are complicated by anise, vanilla bean and sweet butter. A floral quality builds with air and carries through a long, sappy finish. The combination of power and energy offered here is quite impressive.
