93(+?). Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - November/December 2010

($125) Inky ruby. An explosively perfumed, exotic bouquet exudes red berry preserves, potpourri, blood orange and Asian spices, backed by a strong undercurrent of minerals. Youthfully tight on entry, then fleshier and more expansive in the mid-palate, with deep, sweet red fruit and floral pastille flavors and a bracing mineral spine. The impressively long, spicy finish holds onto the blood orange and floral notes and doesn't let go. This is a baby. These vines, most of them ungrafted, are spread across 30 predominately miniscule parcels at the far eastern end of the D.O. Aviva Vino, New York, NY)
