Martinelli Winery is truly a creation born out of love. Founders Giuseppe and Luisa Martinelli eloped from their native Tuscany in 1895, with little more than their knowledge of winemaking, and set out to make a life in the new world. Over a century later, we can safely say that they succeeded.

($50) Greenish gold. Musky aromas of poached pear, vanilla, crushed stone and nutmeg. Concentrated, fleshy and velvety, communicating an impression of richness to its orchard fruit and peach flavors without coming across as ponderous. The vanilla note returns on the broad, long, intensely spicy finish. This has unlikely energy for such a rich wine and is drinking well now.
