Red-ruby. Redcurrant, coffee, graphite and herbs on the nose, plus a whiff of caramel. Supple and smooth initially, with a redcurrant flavor, then turns a bit dusty with air, showing a lightly medicinal quality to its fruit. Finishes with a light dusting of tannins. This is far less expressive today than the 2008 Cabernet Franc.

Very big merlot - more like a cab, smooth tannins

Very good red fruit flavors and rich-tasting finish. It already has a surprisingly plush (almost satin-like) texture in the mouth. I'd buy more.

Sweet rich cherry licquer, nice body & texture. I feel like I'm being easy, but this was enjoyable and fun to drink.

This is good wine. It reminds me of good Chianti. That may sound strange but that was my first impression.

This is a beautiful Merlot right out of the bottle without any decanting. Not a terribly ripe and lush style, but with good fruit and very focused. Good tannin structure and nice acidity - nice food wine, I think, and built for the long haul, yet accessible now. Richer out of bottle after 1.5 hours and more so the second day with no loss of aromatics. 92+ from me. I think the professionals are being stingy on this one!
