($39) Good medium red. Plum, spices, mocha and nutty oak on the lively nose. Juicy, tight and penetrating, with good purity and lift and an attractive subtle sweetness. The oak element is in harmony with the wine's plummy fruit. Will this very firm merlot blossom and gain in pliancy with some bottle aging?
