About Au Bon Climat
Since it was founded in 1982, Au Bon Climat has been a well respected producer of Burgundian-styled California wines. Jim Clendenen's Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs are mineral, focused and restrained in the early going, and sometimes quite oaky.

(55% pinot gris, 40% pinot blanc and 5% aligote): Bright yellow. Intense aromas of pit fruits, poached pear, honey and orange zest, with smoky oak notes and mounting spiciness. Rich and broad on the palate but there's surprising vivacity to the nectarine, pear and candied citrus flavors. Closes on a smoky, gently sweet note, with excellent persistence. I'd serve this intriguing wine with a rich, buttery poultry or shellfish dish.
