About Turley Wine Cellars
When it comes to California Zinfandels, Larry Turley is the master. His are huge, exotic reds that often have head-spinning alcohol and a bit of residual sugar, but at their core, are really showcases for the rich, ripe, old-vine fruit...
2007 Turley Wine Cellars Petite Sirah Pesenti Vineyard Paso Robles
Producer: Turley Wine Cellars
Style: Red Wine
Grape Type: Petite Sirah
Origin: California
Region: Central Coast
Appellation: Paso Robles
89 Points | International Wine Cellar , May/June 2009
($35) Deep, saturated ruby to the rim. Brooding aromas of crushed black fruits, licorice and nuts. Sweet, dense, superripe and thick, with saline and medicinal elements to the crushed cherry and strawberry flavors. Finishes with fairly sweet but serious tannins and lingering pepper and spice notes. A distinctly low-toned petite sirah: I found myself wishing for a bit more primary fruit.
