($55; 64% zinfandel, 28% mourvedre and 16% syrah) Vivid ruby. Sexy red berry liqueur and floral qualities on the nose, with complicating notes of Asian spices and minerals; smells a lot like a rich New World pinot noir. Sappy, finely etched red fruit flavors betray no rough edges or tannins, with tangy minerality adding lift and cut. Very precise blend, with strong finishing snap and a persistent echo of raspberry. This is seductive enough to drink now.
