94 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - September/October 2009

Deep ruby. Deep cherry and blackcurrant aromas are complicated by iron, smoked meat and violet. Powerful red and dark berry flavors are braced by zesty minerality and gain sweetness with air. The red fruit takes the upper hand on the strikingly energetic finish, which leaves sexy floral and Indian spice notes behind. A more masculine wine than the Moncerbal and in need of greater patience. (The Rare Wine Company, Sonoma, CA)
