Bright purple.  Hypnotic, highly perfumed bouquet evokes blackberry preserves, incense and potpourri, with smoke and spicecake notes gaining strength with aeration.  Palate-staining dark berry and floral pastille flavors show an intriguing mix of depth and vivacity, picking up mace and clove notes on the back half.  Shows serious intensity on the finish, which clings with superb clarity and tenacity.  There's nothing to get in the way of enjoying this now for its exotic character, but it will definitely reward patience.
