($73; for 375 ml.; 100% moscatel de alejandria; 250 g/l residual sugar) Bright gold. Deep, smoky aromas of apricot and peach nectar, orange marmalade and toffee, complicated by a suave, smoky note. Very rich and emphatically sweet, offering palate-staining pit fruit compote flavors that stick to the palate like glue. Impressively concentrated and broad, with strong finishing smokiness and a lingering brown butter quality. This is dessert in a glass. (Fine Estates from Spain, Dedham, MA)
