87(+?) Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - January 2010

($20; 75% grenache and 25% syrah) Deep red. Pungent aromas of smoked meat, cherry skin and dried flowers. Slightly clenched cherry and bitter chocolate flavors open slowly to offer sweet dark berry and candied rose qualities. The finish is firm and youthfully clenched; this should be revisited in another year.
