(90% tempranillo and 10% cabernet sauvignon, raised in new French oak):  Glass-staining ruby.  Deeply pitched aromas of candied cherry, cassis, licorice and pipe tobacco, with suave vanilla and floral nuances adding complexity.  Plush and expansive, offering sweet dark fruit flavors and showing very good power for a wine from this vintage.  Finishes smooth and sweet, with excellent clarity and length.
