About Domaine de la Citadelle
Just half-an-hour east of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the climate at Domaine de la Citadelle is noticeably cooler than in the famed village to its west. One key factor in this is the elevation: this carefully developed patchwork quilt of 65 small parcels sits at 1,000 feet above sea leve... more

Open the bottle, pour into the Vinturi wine aerator and let the excitement begin! Enjoy all the smooth floral scents and the vibrant flavors as the wine enters across your entire palate. After a hard busy day, this wine will take you entirely through a relaxing dinner and quite cozy evening with your lover! What else can be said about this wine, enjoy the entire bottle!

opened the bottle, took a sip, and thought it was nice. was doing some things, guests came over 20 or 30 minutes later, took another sip, and WOW.......... so smooth it's not funny, it will be hard to wait for the rest of the bottles.

Deep, rich and vibrant flavors, and some very unique floral scents. Improves greatly the longer it is open. A keeper. Definite aging potential. We bought six bottles and can't wait for it to develop.

Solid wine, but not yet spectacular. Buy now for the cellar, but don't expect to drink it now.

Visited the vineyard in August and bought a couple of bottles of their rose ( lovely ) and a bottle of the Citadelle 2005 which I put my nose to whilst there and it promised a lot. Opened the bottle on Christmas Day and I was disappointed, whether it was too young I`m not sure but where I was expecting warm aromas I got flatness & where I was expecting fruit & the memories of Provence I got a furry tongue.

This wine is over-rated by you folks! Though there is a little fruit in the front, there is no complexity, and so low tannins that it is very unlikely to age very well. No finish whatsoever. Rather disappointing, considering the review from Wine Access, (which I trusted when making this order). I would not buy this wine again, nor would I recommend it to others.
