($40; malbec and cabernet sauvignon, plus a bit of cabernet franc) Bright ruby-red. Reticent blackcurrant and licorice aromas. Tougher and less sweet than the Amorio but still in a rather supple style. In a sullen phase today, showing a slight dry edge and some peppery, herbal character. The broad tannins build with air but avoid dryness. I wanted a bit more lift.(Vine Connections, Sausalito, CA)
