($40) Opaque purple. Musky, slightly liqueur-like aromas of black raspberry, blueberry, potpourri and cracked pepper. Sweet, juicy and rich, offering penetrating bitter cherry and sweeter raspberry flavors. The floral note echoes on the impressively aromatic and gently tannic finish. I like this wine's blend of sweetness and spiciness. Saint-Emilion-based Stephane Derenoncourt consults here. (Fine Estates from Spain, Dedham, MA)
