The farm occupied by the Forrester family dates back to the 17th century, but was in a state of disrepair when Ken and his family arrived in 1993. Today, Forrester makes a rich and complex Chenin, with notes of vanilla and honey, as well as an opulent, tropical-fruity late-harvest wine.

($65) Pale yellow-gold. Highly complex nose melds orange, fresh and dried apricot, honey and toffee, with a sherry-like suggestion contributing another element. Fat and silky but fairly dry, with harmonious ripe acidity giving shape to the exotic fruit and sexy vanillin oak flavors. This tactile wine boasts superb depth and finishes with a firming edge of acidity. Aged in all new barrels and topped up with a bit of botrytized chenin.
