($40) Medium red-ruby. Expressive nose melds very ripe red cherry, raspberry jam, tobacco leaf and fresh herbs. Supple and drinkable already, with a fragrant component of delicate smoky oak adding interest to the red berry and saline flavors. Finishes slightly tart, with a fine dusting of tannins and a trace of alcoholic warmth. I've had more successful versions of Sondraia.
