($150; with 4% petit verdot) Good deep red-ruby. Ripe, sweet aromas of currant, mocha, truffle, leather and chocolate, plus a whiff of blueberry from the petit verdot. Then broad and sweet but with a firm acid spine for the vintage. Distinctly dark flavors of blueberry, black raspberry and licorice. Finishes with densely packed tannins and excellent persistence. This should evolve very slowly.
