($40; 84% mourvedre, 6% petite sirah, 5% carignane, 3% alicante bouschet and 2% syrah) Vivid red. Vibrant red and dark berry aromas are complicated by smoky minerals and spices. Fat, velvety and gently sweet, with pure raspberry and blackberry flavors and a tangy jolt of cracked pepper. This is impressively elegant for a blend like this, which I'd have guessed to have a lot more carignane, or even some zinfandel. Carlisle said that this is his favorite Two Acres ever, and that he could drink this all day long.
