Deep purple-ruby. Deep aromas of cassis, flowers and herbs, with slow-building smokiness and a touch of chocolate. Lush and creamy, offering sweet, rich, ripe red and dark berry flavors and more chocolate on the palate. This is even smoother than the other glossy reds made by Argiolas, but manages to avoid coming off as heavy-handed or cloying. A sweet note of smoky cocoa repeats on the long finish. As good as this is, it could come from anywhere, and those who love low-acid, fleshy, creamy wines will like this more than I did.
