91 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - March/April 2011

Good full ruby. Knockout nose is considerably deeper than that of the '08, offering dark cherry, dried flowers, ink, tar and musky dried spices. Creamy and sweet on entry, then powerful in the middle, with a firm spine of acidity giving clarity and cut to the wine's red fruit, garrigue and dried flower flavors. This very well-balanced wine really spreads out to saturate the palate on the long, candied red cherry finish. Both riper and richer than the 2008 bottling, but has plenty of energy to avoid coming across as heavy or cloying.
