About Domaine Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin
Benoit Droin represents the 14th Droin generation to make wine in Chablis. The family has been here, making wine, for nearly five centuries, dating all the way back to 1620. Since 2002, however, the estate has taken new form; Domain Jean-Paul and Benoit Droin was formed officially in 2002.
90 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - July/August 2010
($65) Reticent nose hints at soft citrus fruits and menthol; showing less oak than the young 2009. Then rich, sappy and spicy, with the wine's mid-palate fat leavened by good inner-mouth energy. Finishes a tad aggressive, with some tannins from the oak and slowly building spiciness.
