92 Points | International Wine Cellar , January/February 2010

($100; 100% new barriques Pale gold color. Citrus, vanilla bean, smoke, candied ginger and crushed rocks on the fragrant nose. Fat, ripe and gently sweet, with very good clarity and cut to the flavors of orange, peach, smoky brown spices and minerals. With air the oak notes recede into the lush fruit, where they stay hidden until the tail end of the finish. This tactile, energetic and sexy wine is pretty primary right now and Guigal thinks the oak will not be playing much of a role after a couple of years.
