More About This Wine
About Au Bon Climat
Since it was founded in 1982, Au Bon Climat has been a well respected producer of Burgundian-styled California wines. Jim Clendenen's Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs are mineral, focused and restrained in the early going, and sometimes quite oaky.
2008 Au Bon Climat Hildegard White Table Wine Santa Maria Valley

91 Points | International Wine Cellar , November/December 2012
(55% pinot gris, 40% pinot blanc and 5% aligote): Light, bright gold. Spicy orange, melon and poached pear aromas show very good energy and clarity. Fleshy and silky on entry, then tighter in the middle, offering vivid honeydew and citrus fruit flavors deepened by a subtle smoky quality. Finishes with refreshing mineral lift and thrust, leaving a floral note behind. This wine ages nicely, by the way, as shown by a recent bottle of the 2005.
