More About This Wine
About Domaine Christian Moreau Pere et Fils
The year 2002 marked a new start here. The Moreau family regained control of their estate vineyards, which had been out of their since 1985. Since then, Christian Moreau and his son Fabien have been producing richly flavored yet precise examples of Chablis.
2008 Domaine Christian Moreau Pere et Fils Chablis Les Clos
Producer: Domaine Christian Moreau Pere et Fils
Style: White Wine
Grape Type: Chardonnay
Origin: France
Region: Burgundy
Appellation: Chablis
93 Points | International Wine Cellar , July/August 2010
($80) Pale yellow-gold. Reticent, pure aromas of lime peel, lemon, almond flower and minerals. Deceptively open in the way of Les Clos owing to its sheer suavity, fine-grained texture and balance, hinting at citrus oil. Deep and broad yet almost magically weightless ("this could make a good aperitif right now," notes Christian Moreau), finishing with excellent length and class. As with the Vaillon Guy Moreau, this wine's creamy quality is amplified by the fact that it finished with about two grams per liter of residual sugar.
