About Araujo Estate
Since 1990, Bart and Daphne Araujo have carried on the tradition of making monster Cabernets from the Eisele Vineyard, adding Syrah into the mix as well. Their flagship bottling is dense, powerful and rich, typically with soil-inflected notes of plum, mocha, tobacco and smoke, and very suave tannins.
2008 Araujo Estate Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley
Producer: Araujo Estate
Style: White Wine
Grape Type: Sauvignon Blanc
Origin: California
Region: Napa
90 Points | International Wine Cellar , May/June 2010
($48; just 350 cases produced due to frost) Bright, pale yellow-green. Lemon, lime, fresh herbs and a waxy nuance on the nose. Densely packed, fat and chewy but following the 2009 this came off as less bright and delineated. A substantial wine that verges on heavy.
