About Ridge Vineyards
One of the premier producers of Cabernet and Zinfandel blends in California, Ridge Vineyards thrives on the hands-off approach of longtime winemaker Paul Draper. These wines are generally single-site bottlings that express the unique characteristics of vineyards in the Santa Cruz Mountains, Alexander Valley and Dry Creek Valley, among others.

($40; this is sourced entirely from the Monte Bello Estate Vineyard) Light bright yellow. Lively aromas of lemon, lime zest and green apple, with complicating notes of oak spice and sweet butter. Fleshy but taut, with bright citrus flavors that give way to deeper apple and pear in the mid-palate. The finish repeats the spice and orange notes and lingers with very good, nervy persistence. This is complex enough to drink now but is balanced to age.
