The smokiness of the wine...

was too much! Rich and full-bodied with some tropical fruit quality, but finishes with this cigar-box taste afterwards (due to oak fermentation) as if I just finished smoking one. Mer Soleil also has a "Silver" variety which does not touch an oak barrel (fermented in stainless steel vats) and that is the variety I personally prefer.
