About Alban Vineyards
John Alban makes some of the most aromatically complex and explosively rich wines in the New World from traditional Rhone varieties. Since 1989 he’s worked entirely with fruit from his own superb clonal material, planted on chalk-rich hillside vineyards in Edna Valley.
93 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - November/December 2009
($48) Bright yellow-gold. Explosively perfumed, seductive bouquet of passion fruit, white peach and tangerine, along with notes of jasmine and violet. Deeply concentrated but energetic, offering vibrant orchard and pit fruit flavors and exotic floral and spice nuances. Finishes with a strong snap of minerality and outstanding persistence.
