About Domaine Barmes-Buecher
Husband and wife team Francois and Genevieve Barmes created Domaine Barmes-Buecher in 1985 from family land owned since the 17th century. Today, after the death of Francois, Genevieve carries on their life’s work, managing 30 acres in Alsace, around the towns of Wettolsheim, Turckheim, and Wintzenheim.
92(+?) Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - November/December 2010
(12.8% alcohol, 98 g/l r.s. and 6.6 acidity) Bright medium gold. Hints of pungent clove and mocha on the youthfully closed nose. Then surprisingly tangy on the palate, but less showy today than the Pfersigberg, offering concentrated flavors of apricot, spices and golden raisin. Conveys an impression of very firm acidity. This will require patience.
