About Domaine Zind Humbrecht
The properties of Zenon Humbrecht and Emile Zind merged in 1959 to form Zind-Humbrecht. The domaine now covers 40 hectares in five villages in the Haut-Rhin; its best parcels from four Grand Cru vineyards: Brand, Hengst, Goldert, and Clos St. Urbain on the steep slopes of Rangen.

($28; 15.8% alcohol, 12 g/l r.s. and 6.4 acidity) Medium orange-gold. Exotic honeyed fruit salad, overripe pear and a hint of cashew on the nose. Thick, dense and tactile, with flavors similar to the aromas. Solid acidity and a dusty impression of extract give this rich and fairly sweet wine a chewy quality. The highest in alcohol of Olivier Humbrecht's 2008s by a wide margin, yet it manages to remain just this side of overbearing. Still, this really needs to be paired with spicy Asian cuisine.
