About Maison Chapoutier

Maison Chapoutier, the first négociant and producer to mark their bottlings with braille, was established in 1879 by Polydor Chapoutier. The business has remained family owned since then and is now run by Michel Chapoutier. His hands off approach to winemaking has lead to a resurgence in quality at Maison Chapoutier, which now produces some of the finest wines in the Rhone region of France.

($65) Bright gold. Ripe citrus fruits and herbs on the nose, with notes of anise and minerals adding complexity. Sappy, penetrating orange pith and dried pear flavors are given spine by dusty minerality and pick up a note of bee pollen with air. Rich but dry, with very good finishing clarity and spicy cut.
