About Domaine Zind Humbrecht
The properties of Zenon Humbrecht and Emile Zind merged in 1959 to form Zind-Humbrecht. The domaine now covers 40 hectares in five villages in the Haut-Rhin; its best parcels from four Grand Cru vineyards: Brand, Hengst, Goldert, and Clos St. Urbain on the steep slopes of Rangen.
90 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - November/December 2010
($45; 14.3% alcohol, 8 g/l r.s. and 6.3 acidity) Pale yellow-gold. Honey and nuts on the soil-driven nose. Richer and more opulent than the Rotenberg, but conveys a bit less energy owing to its impression of greater sweetness and lower acidity. Still, this rich, silky pinot gris has a good future in the bottle.
