About Domaine Zind Humbrecht
The properties of Zenon Humbrecht and Emile Zind merged in 1959 to form Zind-Humbrecht. The domaine now covers 40 hectares in five villages in the Haut-Rhin; its best parcels from four Grand Cru vineyards: Brand, Hengst, Goldert, and Clos St. Urbain on the steep slopes of Rangen.

($28; 14.2% alcohol, 41 g/l r.s. and 7.5 acidity) Pale straw-gold. Musky, varietally expressive aromas of lichee, rose oil, mace, nutmeg and quinine. Sweet but youthful and firm, with lovely spicy acidity and a note of peppermint energizing the middle palate. Nicely complex, subtle wine with a surprisingly dry aftertaste in light of its significant residual sugar. This has the structure to reward a few years in the bottle. This is mostly from the Herrenweg vineyard, as there was no Turckheim bottling in 2008.
