(60% cabernet sauvignon and 40% merlot) Good ruby-red color. Cassis, graphite and flowers on the nose, which is less merlot-dominated than usual. Juicy and initially light, but opened with air to show fleshier, more voluptuous cassis, milk chocolate and graphite flavors. A supple, smoothly tannic lightweight that should be ideal for early drinking. Owner Denis Lurton is a real fan of merlot, but has scaled it back here a bit, probably a good idea in 2008.
