87-90 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - May/June 2009

Bright, full ruby. Rather Burgundian aromas of raspberry, black cherry and flowers, nicely lifted by sweet spices. Juicy, fine and light on its feet, with lovely lift to the red cherry and plum flavors provided by a pretty floral element that lingers on the spicy aftertaste. Very smooth and well-balanced, but perhaps a touch short for outstanding. My guess is that it will gain in flesh in bottle and ultimately merit a score at the high end of my projected range. (Tasted three times, with one bottle meriting only an 85 score.)
