2006 Artezin Petite Sirah Garzini Ranch Mendocino County

This wine is relatively more polished than the typical successful Petite Sirah, but it is necessary to remember that it is Petite Sirah in more than name only. It has a pretty good and slightly juicier brand of fruit with notes of ripe black plums joining its distinct blackberry preserve components. Comfortable at the front of the palate yet tannic and a bit drying at the backend, it would be a good choice for steaks and chops over the next two to five years while waiting for others to open up.
