About Louis Michel & Fils
In six generations of winemaking here in Chablis, the Michel family has developed a no nonsense approach. You won't find the distracting presence of oak in these immaculate Chardonnays, because no wood is used in their cellaring.
2008 Louis Michel & Fils Chablis Butteaux Vieilles Vignes
Producer: Louis Michel & Fils
Style: White Wine
Grape Type: Chardonnay
Origin: France
Region: Burgundy
Appellation: Chablis
91(+?) Points | International Wine Cellar , July/August 2010
(from a single block of 55-year-old vines; this was bottled with the grand crus in April of this year) Musky aromas and flavors of lemon oil, peach and crushed stone. Thicker than the regular Butteaux yet even more vibrant and in need of at least a few years of bottle aging. Spreads out impressively to coat the mouth and leaves a floral perfume behind.
