($20) Bright ruby. Strikingly fresh, pure red berry and floral aromas are complemented by nuances of smoky minerals and black olive; smells like a wine from the northern Rhone. Sharply focused raspberry and blackcurrant flavors are given spine by a nervy mineral quality and gain an exotic floral quality with air. The finish strongly echoes the mineral and floral notes and lingers with admirable intensity. For the money this is a steal.
