Drinking this now is infanticide. We received our shipment and opened one up the other night. Very deep, intense color, incensed with currants and chocolate. Tannic but fruity, it was somewhat harsh on the finish, this wine began to show after about 1.5 hours from opening some of the flavors mentioned in the WA review. I don't know what "damp forest floor" tastes like (barnyard?), for I've never licked a lichen or tasted mesic dirt infused with springtails and other micro-arthropods, but this sweet, chocolaty complex wine should be stored for several more years before opening.
