($22) Bright ruby. The nose offers energetic lift to the aromas of raspberry and cherry preserves, rose, Asian spices and red licorice. Juicy, broad and spicy, with gentle acidity giving a light touch to the fairly intense red fruit flavors. Quite expressive now but this wine really needs a couple years to harmonize. Finishes with dusty, fine-grained tannins and good clarity.
