($12) Inky ruby. Blackberry, candied violet, sassafras, bitter chocolate and smoky herbs on the nose. Dense and sweet but with tangy, integrated acidity energizing the dark fruit and bitter chocolate flavors. Finishes with sweet tannins and good juicy length. (Epicurean Wines, Seattle, WA)
